Welcome. If you’re here, it may be because you’re seeking a safe space to process the complex layers of grief and what it means to become acquainted with life in the midst of loss.

You might be carrying unresolved grief, experiencing the emotional aftermath of loss, or managing the chaos that can come from loved ones’ mental health challenges such as mood disorders, psychosis, or addiction. Perhaps you're navigating feelings of shame, shame associated with stigmatized loss, or struggling to find your voice amidst life transitions. My professional experience in working with the ministry of children and families of British Columbia lends to my knowledge in supporting parents with kids that have big feelings due to grief and trauma, as well as, families with complex needs.

You are not alone in these experiences. Your feelings are valid, and your story matters. Whether you’re seeking clarity, a space to grieve, or tools to foster emotional regulation, my approach is rooted in empathy, compassionate inquiry, and evidence-based practices.

Through narrative and somatic therapy, I invite you to explore the stories you carry and the physical sensations that arise within your body. Grief impacts the whole body with symptoms like brain fog, muscle fatigue and digestive issues. Your lived experiences hold immense meaning—when we listen attentively to how your body responds, it can serve as a vital resource for emotional regulation, self-awareness, and healing. I support my clients in honoring all parts of  their narrative—those moments of pain, resilience, and hope—helping you to reconnect with your intrinsic strength and sense of agency.

Whether you're untangling the effects of complex trauma, processing grief from stigmatized or traumatic loss, or navigating relational dynamics affected by mental health issues or addiction, I am here to walk with you. My goal is to empower you to reframe your story, foster self-compassion, and rediscover joy and authenticity.

If you’re ready to explore what’s inside, to make space for all your feelings, and to begin a new chapter filled with hope, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Patricia Gonzalez, RPC-C

Hello! I work with individuals who are navigating grief, anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress. Together, we find the tools you need to manage the painful, often life changing experience of grief. I also work with those dealing with self-limiting beliefs rooted in childhood trauma and ADHD. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck, unsure if they’re living the life they truly want and deserve.

My approach is holistic and compassionate. I help you set clear, achievable goals while honoring your emotional experiences. Through exploring your thoughts and feelings, challenging limiting beliefs, and building emotional resilience, I aim to help you reconnect with your zest for life. With a background as a lawyer, I’ve also gained valuable insights into managing high-pressure careers, burnout, and overwhelm — and I use these insights to guide clients facing similar challenges. I believe in the transformative power of therapy. It’s a journey toward embracing your worth, discovering your unique gifts, making choices aligned with your values, and freeing yourself from regret, shame, guilt, and resentment. It’s about living authentically and finding the freedom to be your true self — beyond societal expectations.

As someone who has personally navigated immigration, ADHD, infertility, and intercultural relationships, I understand the nuanced challenges these experiences can bring. This empathy allows me to connect deeply and guide you with compassion and understanding. I integrate evidence-based techniques from CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy, alongside my training as a Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner. These methods are designed to help you overcome mental and emotional barriers and unlock your full potential.

I’m currently welcoming clients in both English and Spanish. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Ben Blackman, RPC-C

Hi, I’m Ben, a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC-C) dedicated to supporting you through life’s most difficult moments. I work with clients on a wide range of concerns, including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, childhood trauma and neglect, stress, self-esteem, identity, and relationship challenges.

Originally from the UK, I moved to Vancouver in 2019, and it has truly become my home. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade in project management roles across industries like corporate, local government, defense, and construction. Those experiences taught me a lot about organization, communication, and recognizing the strengths of others — insights I now incorporate into my work as a counselor.

My interest in psychology and human behavior has always been a part of who I am. However, it was through great personal losses that I deepened my understanding of how vital compassionate, skilled therapy can be. My work in hospice has sparked my purpose: to support others through to the end of life with care and dignity while also helping others navigate the grief of losing a loved one. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can process your experiences, gain deeper self-awareness, and grow into the fullest version of yourself.

I primarily use modalities such as CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy. Together, we’ll work on building practical tools and fostering self-understanding to help you thrive despite life’s struggles.

Beyond my work in therapy, I’m passionate about advocating for women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights.

I am currently accepting clients on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. If you can’t find a time that works for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email at ben@adventuringloss.com. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
